Workshops

Dialogues, analytic cases, and interactive activities

Workshops encourage students to converse with their peers in Spanish. The material includes patient-doctor dialogues, analytic cases, and interactive activities.

Themes

The material includes themes such as the human body, taking a medical history, type II diabetes, and sexual health education.

Dialogues

The material includes patient-doctor dialogue and prompts for students to practice communicating with patients

Activities

The material includes vocabulary building activities such as labelling part of the human body systems.

Medical Spanish Classes

Review of systems, vocabulary, grammar, and dialogue

Medical Spanish classes cover the major body systems, vocabulary, and grammar. Each class includes dialogues and activities unique to the care of Spanish-speaking patients.

Body Systems

The material introduces students to the cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and reproductive systems.

Vocabulary

The material covers vocabulary to describe medical teams, clinical settings, and common symptoms and illnesses.

Grammar

The material includes common gramatical strucutres per language level used in taking medical histories, conducting physical exams, understandings patients’ complaints, and making recommendations.

OSCEs

Objective Structured Clinical Examinations

The objective structured clinical examination material includes patient-doctor dialogues for chronic pain, pharyngitis, dietary and lifestyle change education, and diabetes.
